Yes. Once your concrete is clean, we can apply a protective treatment designed to help reduce water getting in, staining and weather-related wear.
The cleaning has to come first. A treatment can only soak into pores that are open.
Why clean comes first
Dirt, oil, mold and old peeling sealers sit in the top of the slab. Treat over them and you trap the grime in and keep the treatment out. NexaNano’s own process starts by stripping “dirt, grime, oil stains, mold, and failing coatings.” The treatment goes on only “Once the surface is prepared and thoroughly dried.”
The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association agrees on the dry part. It says concrete “should be reasonably dry prior to the application of a sealer,” and it calls late summer, after a few dry days, “an ideal time.” So after we clean, we give the slab time to dry before anything goes on.
What protection does, and what it doesn’t
NexaNano says its products are SiO2 treatments that sink into the surface and leave a breathable barrier. It also says the treatment “does not create a shiny film, will not yellow, and does not make surfaces slippery.” Water should bead up instead of darkening the concrete. That helps cut down how much water and salt get in.
Here’s what it won’t do. It won’t fill pits, fix cracks or undo old flaking. It can’t promise the slab will never crack, either.
Timing is easy. NexaNano says most treated surfaces are dry to the touch in one to two hours, with full cure in about 24 to 48 hours. We’ll tell you when it’s ready for cars.
